Content
Since the first edition in 1948, Patty’s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology has become a flagship publication for Wiley. In the course of its nearly six decades in print, it has evolved into a standard reference for the fields of occupational health and toxicology. The volumes on Industrial Hygiene are cornerstone reference works for chemists, engineers, toxicologists, and occupational safety personnel. Since the 5 th edition was published, the field of IH has changed with personnel often working for multinational firms, self-employed, at small consulting firms. Their environment has changed and expanded, and thus also the types of information and resources required have changed. The traditional areas of interest to occupational health and safety professionals include anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of potential hazards. In addition to these, the 6 th edition provides information and reliable resources to prepare for natural disasters, exposures to biological agents and potential acts of terrorism. (Volumes also available separately; contact us for pricing and availability) Vernon E. Rose (Editor), Barbara Cohrssen (Editor) Volume 1 covers Introduction of Industrial Hygiene and Recognition of Chemical Agents .   In addition to revised and updated chapters, a number of new chapters reflect current technology and concerns.  The chapters include Nano-Materials, Chemical Toxicants including endocrine disruptors, Exposures in a Multicontaminant Environment, and Real Time Assessment for Contaminants. Volume 2 covers Recognition and Evaluation of Physical Agents and Recognition of Biohazards.  Almost all of the chapters in the section Recognition and Evaluation of Physical Agents are new.  Three new chapters are in the section on Biohazards:  Bioaerosols, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Tuberculosis and Other Mycobacteria Communicable Diseases.  These subjects are increasing in importance to industrial hygienists. Volume 3 covers Hazard Control:  Engineering, Administrative and Personal Protection. Along with the updated and revised chapters from the prior edition, this volume has two new chapters:  Administrative Controls and Personal Protective Equipment. Volume 4 covers environmental, health and safety program management, with a number of new chapters on international regulations and laws, hospital health and safety, fire safety (including explosions/reactions), managing industrial hygiene in a multicultural environment, and emergency and disaster response.

Book condition
An important factor of a second-hand book is the condition of the book. The buyer may not be surprised. Always mention damages or defects. We use a system with 3 stars:
The book is acceptable: you have used it to study and made notes and markings – but everything is still readable. The cover and pages are in good condition.
The book still looks good: there are a few notes in it and you marked it. There are hardly any signs of use on the cover and pages.
The book is (almost) new: you have not written or marked in it. There are no signs of use on the cover and pages.
